PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Dopamine Hydrochloride Injection is a critical care vasopressor and inotropic agent used in the management of hemodynamic imbalances.

It acts directly on dopaminergic and beta-adrenergic receptors, leading to increased cardiac output, improved renal perfusion, and stabilization of blood pressure in hypotensive states.

Dopamine is dose-dependent in its action low doses enhance renal perfusion, moderate doses stimulate cardiac output, and higher doses cause vasoconstriction, making it highly versatile in managing shock and acute heart failure. It is widely used in ICU settings and surgical recovery for cardiovascular support.

• Presentation: Clear Sterile Solution in Clear/Amber Glass Vial/ Ampoule (customizable as per market demand)

  • 100 MG/ 5 ML
• Route of Administration: Intravenous (IV) Infusion or continuous infusion with titration based on blood pressure, urine output, and cardiac status and as per clinical indication. To be used after appropriate reconstitution or as per clinical indication and recommendation. Reconstituted as per protocol for injection in country of use. To be administered under strict supervision of a qualified doctor or as per physician’s discretion or decision only.

Therapeutic Indications:

• Management of shock due to myocardial infarction, trauma, endotoxic septicemia, open heart surgery, or renal failure
• Congestive heart failure (CHF) requiring short-term inotropic support
• Hypotension unresponsive to fluid resuscitation

Side Effects:

• COMMON:
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Increased heart rate (tachycardia)
  • Chest pain
  • Local irritation at infusion site
• SERIOUS (RARE):
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Extravasation causing tissue necrosis
  • Hypertension or hypotension (depending on dose)
  • Dyspnea or bronchospasm
  • Gangrene in extremities (with prolonged high-dose use)
• PRECAUTIONS:
  • Close monitoring of blood pressure, ECG, urine output is essential
  • Avoid extravasation; use central line if possible
  • Contraindicated in patients with pheochromocytoma or uncorrected tachyarrhythmias
  • Use cautiously in patients with a history of occlusive vascular disease
  • Should not be mixed with alkaline solutions or sodium bicarbonate
