Cabergoline is a potent dopamine receptor agonist used to treat disorders associated with high levels of the hormone prolactin (hyperprolactinemia). It effectively reduces prolactin secretion from the pituitary gland, restoring normal hormonal function in affected patients.

It is also used in the management of pituitary tumors and in specific fertility and menstrual disorders related to prolactin elevation.
